Turf vs Synthetic Grass

In the late 60s turf was used first time in stadiums for the games that were used to play on grass. Astrodome stadium in Houston, Texas was the place that had the very first turf in the world. Turf needs significantly less expenditures to uphold. Natural grass needs cutting, irrigating, feeding, substances, etc whereas the turf does not require nearly anything to maintain and uphold. The time you save on keeping your garden beautiful and green can be better invested experiencing it.

A trouble with the early stages of this item was burns experienced by its users due to the roughness of the material. In early 70s, polypropylene fibers (PP) material was used to make turf products, which was far less resistance than polyamide. The main cause for modernizing the turf areas was to enhance the contact intake and it was done by using a flexible material as the base. This type of item is generally known today as the first generation of Turf.

Regardless of its success and being used in the stadiums and sports facilities around the world, the 80s were almost last days of the popularity of the Turf. Both turf users were raising the voice about their issues for the turf’s material, which triggered a question mark over the potency of its use in top level game. The grounds of this question varied; some stated that the ball didn’t bounce as predicted, while others reported that the exhaustion level was higher in comparison to natural lawn and injuries and accidents were filled due to the firmness and harshness of Turf.

Synthetic grass has a wide range of appropriate uses, from backyards and gardens, to rooftops and even landscapes. The technology has gone to the point where it is almost impossible to differentiate from the genuine factor. It no longer emerges like a green rug, or looks firm, rough and plastic material. Instead, you would be pardoned for considering it as the real grass.

The usage of synthetic grass is more popular day by day as it comes with numerous advantages. First, synthetic grass is easier to sustain. It is just the right thing for dry environments because it helps you to save a lot of money on water expenses. Synthetic grass never turns brownish so you will not fear about undesirable deceased grass. As for cold environment climate, the synthetic grass does not freeze as the natural grass does. This makes synthetic grass a better option. With synthetic grass, you will never have to fear about cutting, mowing, watering, etc either. It helps you to save both time and energy aside from being affordable.

However there are some drawbacks of synthetic grass. Since plastic is the main material used to make it, heat can cause problems in synthetic turf such as high heat may melt it or de-shape it. In case synthetic grass is not created from nylon material, excessive weight might cause it to flatten and look undesirable. Synthetic grass without rubber or sand is more rough and hard and may cause accidents. It is also expensive to set up. Make sure the amount you save up on water and servicing over-shadow the price of set up when determining to change         to synthetic lawn.
