Above Ground vs. In Ground Pools

It is a very convenient way to enjoy and cool off in the hot summer months with your family and friends, if you have your own backyard swimming pool. Children love to be in a pool. It is one of the greatest ways for kids to enjoy and have fun. The time when you make the decision to construct a pool in your backyard, is not only the time when you construct a leisure environment but it can also enhance your property’s value. Having a swimming pool in your backyard provides you with many options for relaxation and fun.
Before constructing a swimming pool it is a big question in front of you that should you build an in-ground or above ground swimming pool?

Both types of swimming pool models are popular, but before constructing a pool it is a must to decide which is best for your home and for you. In ground and above ground pools have many benefits and disadvantages of their own. So, before making a decision it is recommended that you should study the details about them.

Above Ground vs. In Ground Pools

Cost is a main factor to consider while deciding the type of the pool. Above ground pools are cheaper than the in ground ones. An above ground pool can cost you in-between the range of few hundred dollars to few thousands, depending the size, style and material of the pool while the in-ground pools are much expensive as they can cost you from 5000 to 10000 dollars.

Size is also an important factor; in many situations the backyard of your home may not be very large to have an in-ground swimming pool. This is the situation where the above ground pools are beneficial. These are easy to install and comes in various sizes. So, it is easy to select an above ground pool according to your backyard space. However, it can be more creative to choose an in-ground swimming pool. In-ground pools can be designed in many shapes like simple rectangular shape to more curvaceous which makes your backyard a new aesthetic look. In-ground pools can be constructed with the depths of your own choice while the above ground pools usually come with 4.5 feet of depth.

Maintenance is almost same for both types of pools, having an above ground pool does not mean that you treat it like an overgrown kiddy pool. You have to buy and maintain same pump and filters for an above ground pool as for an in-ground pool. In-ground pool’s maintenance can be more time consuming because of the style and size. However the small sized above ground pool is much easier to maintain rather than the in-ground pool.

While considering the safety feature, above ground pool is considered as much safer than the in-ground pools. Remove the ladder from the above ground pool and it is not in use and also away from the reach of the children.
